SOPA: Not Just Spanish For 'Soup'

You might see a lot of the internet blacked out today or websites that are unaccessable. You may have run across Google's header image today. Keep surfing around, and you'll eventually find articles about these internet protests against the SOPA act working its way through congress. It affects our freedom. I won't bore you with the details if you don't know what it is. From what I can tell, the extremely high level version is that if it passes, the government would be able to block any website it wants to without having to clear it with anyone. At all. They say it's to stop piracy, but it's just an excuse for some Big Brother ultimate power.

The Midwesternist 10000% supports this protest against SOPA and restrictive government rules. We know it won't turn the tide at all (Maybe it will?), but this will be our only post for today. We're going silent as a sign of solidarity.
